"There is No Planet B" by Mike Berners-Lee

We all know that global warming is a thing. We hear that multiple times every day. There is a lot of information coming in, but it doesn’t necessarily help us understand what really is happening.

In his book, Mike Berners-Lee focuses on that exactly - understanding, instead of just absorbing and accepting facts.

It’s not enough to:

• know that plastic is bad for the environment if we don’t know how big of an impact it really has and where it’s coming from

• be aware of the inequalities between the amount of food we grow and the amount we actually need if we don’t understand how it will influence us in the long run

• realize we need more sustainable energy, but don’t know what’s stopping us from using it

• promote ecological and science-based approaches to business if just making a profit is still the most rewarded way to go

• it’s not enough to act locally if we can’t reach out and agree on a global scale

It’s not enough to know things, we need to understand. Understand the causes and appreciate the future consequences.
