Pineapple shoes for the win!

We know that fast fashion is a big issue. But did you know that just the production of shoes themselves is responsible for around 2% of all carbon emissions? To put that into perspective, flying is at 3% šŸ˜± We discussed this and more on fast fashion with the sustainability officer at Earthbound, Mikael Hietala.

When we talk about ā€˜fast fashionā€˜, what we usually mean is the consumption of more products than we actually need. Yup, weā€™re talking about that pair of jeans at the back of your closet that you havenā€™t worn since that boring date two years ago. šŸ‘–

Obviously, buying less, trying vintage and taking good care of the things we already have is a great place to start. And the good news is that we can all do it at any time. But, there are some cooler things happening too!

šŸ Would you wear shoes made of pineapple waste? I mean, how cool is that?!

Many more exciting biomaterials are being investigated for manufacturing clothing items, which would not only be biodegradable, but also potentially come in some pretty unique colours and shapes. After all, itā€™s still fashion!
